This is a cover of blues singer Eric Bibb’s song “Don’t let nobody drag your spirit down.” I’ve heard both, both AMAZING, but there is something about a woman’s voice that is just extra soothing. Her debut album will be out soon, and I’ll keep you posted.

Darlette Gayle was once asked to sing at the BET Honors Award show taping, where she sung before Whitney Houston, Queen Latifah, Trey Songz, Neyo and other celebrities at the Warner Theater. Darlette sang a snippet of Beyonce’s Deja Vu and everyone loved her rendition of the song! Whitney Houston smiled, clapped & winked! The entire filled room applauded!

Who Needs a Genre? This is very cool. I started this blog so I could open myself to new sounds, and share my love for just music, plus hip hop was getting a little stale for me. I had to explore. And I have to say this right here is on repeat with me right now. The upbeat nature puts a smile on my face. For me this song is all about being free, carefree, its dope. Thanks Toni!

I used to feel alone a lot, I used to hate that feeling. So I surrounded myself with more and more people in an attempt to escape that feeling. It never worked, often times I would find myself feeling more alone around people than when I was actually alone lol. It sucked. Then something happened, I started to enjoy my own company. Its like I got used to being with me. How many of us can say we know ourselves? The funny thing is, you are ALWAYS with you. There is never a moment when you are not with you. Being alone simply makes you aware that you are. Watching this video on All About Lemon really showed me how far I’ve come. If you hate being alone, watch this.

Canadian filmmaker Andrea Dorfman interprets the poem of the same title by spoken word artist Tanya Davis. Dorfman blends portraiture and whimsical animation to bring the words to life in visuals.
